Talk: The Soay Sheep of St. Kilda

Professor Josephine Pemberton, University of Edinburgh. Wow! Who would have believed that alpha males have a shorter life expectancy than the rest of us? Or that according to the Foster's theory large animals get smaller when put an island whilst small animals get larger. St Kilda endorses this theory as the Soay sheep are getting smaller whereas the common mouse is twice the size of ones on the mainland. This was a fascinating talk by Prof Josephine Pemberton and she had us all glued to our seats. The new venue at ECCI was also a great success. Hilary Watkinson
